Journal of Teacher Action Research
Networks: An Online Journal for Teacher Research
Networks offers a place for sharing reports of action research, in which teachers at all levels, kindergarten to postgraduate, are reflecting on classroom practice through research ventures. It also provides space for discussion of other ways in which educational practitioners, alone or in collaboration, use inquiry as a tool to learn more about their work with the hope of eventually improving its effectiveness.
Canadian Journal of Action Research
The Canadian Journal of Action Research is a freely accessible, full-text, peer-reviewed electronic journal intended for elementary, secondary, and university teachers who are concerned with exploring the unity between educational research and practice. While our primary aim is to serve the needs of educators in Canada, we welcome readership and submissions from the world.

The Australian Journal of Indigenous Education – print and online
This journal is published through Cambridge University in association with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies Unit of the University of Queensland, and publishes articles on theory, method and practice of Indigenous education twice a year. It is particularly focused on Indigenous education in Australia and Oceania, but also publishes other educational experiences worldwide. Through theoretical reflections and discussions in qualitative and quantitative studies and case studies of Indigenous educational best practices, the journal’s goal is to “foster debate between researchers, government and community groups on the shifting paradigms, problems and practical outcomes of Indigenous education.” By sharing best practices to influence both educators and stakeholders, the goal is to improve education on the front lines and in governance.
Comparative and International Education (formerly titled Canadian and International Education) – online
This journal is published through the Comparative and International Education Society of Canada, and publishes articles on formal and non-formal education worldwide. It focuses on Canadian comparative studies on a number of educational topics, including Indigenous and cross-cultural research that “use methodological approaches, draw upon a wide range of theoretical frameworks and speak to diverse contexts.” The journal is also published in both English and French twice a year. Writers looking to be published in this journal should review other recent articles on their topic and reference them to “enhance context, coherence and continuity” for readers. They should also explain how their work compares to other studies in comparative and international education. By comparing various educational practices, any educator can learn new approaches and compare their own practices to the studies.
Education Forum – print and online
This is OSSTF/FEESO’s full-colour educational magazine that examines “contemporary issues, events, trends and personalities that shape education.” This magazine is published three times a year and has the largest circulation of any other Canadian education magazine by the printed magazine reaching all public Ontario secondary school teachers and education workers, directors and other school board employees, trustees, MPPs and Ministry of Education officials, and also being available online. The goal with all of these readers is to influence community stakeholders who have influence in public education. The magazine is interested in publishing any articles that are focused on educational topics, both long and shorter, as well as reviews of books, films and various resources that support public education.
